BuddyHelps is operated by 28 Corp. ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Section A: Business Customers - Plumbing businesses subscribing to BuddyHelps services.
Section B: Callers - Individuals calling phone numbers answered by BuddyHelps.
Section A: For Business Customers
Information We Collect
- Account information (name, email, phone number, business name)
- Billing information (processed securely through our payment provider)
- Service preferences and custom greetings
- Usage data (call volumes, notification preferences)
- Mobile app data (device type, operating system, push notification tokens)
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the BuddyHelps service
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send service notifications and updates
- Provide customer support
- Deliver push notifications for incoming calls (mobile app)
- Train and improve our AI systems (see AI Training Data below)
Your Obligations Regarding Caller Data
As a BuddyHelps customer, you are the accountable organization under PIPEDA for caller data collected through your BuddyHelps number. You agree to:
- Disclose to callers that calls may be answered by AI and recorded
- Include appropriate disclosure in your business communications and website
- Handle caller data in accordance with PIPEDA and PIPA requirements
- Respond to access requests from callers regarding their personal information

Information We Collect
When you call a phone number answered by BuddyHelps, we collect:
- Your phone number
- Call recording and transcription
- Information you provide during the call (name, address, service needs, urgency)
How We Use Your Information
- Answer and process your service request
- Relay your message to the plumbing business you called
- Improve our AI technology and service quality
Who Receives Your Information
Your information is shared with the plumbing business you called. They receive your name, phone number, address, and details about your plumbing issue via text message and email. The plumbing business controls how your information is used for their business purposes.
Call Recording Notice
All calls answered by BuddyHelps are recorded for the purposes of accurately capturing your service request and improving service quality. By continuing your call after the recording notice, you consent to this recording. If you prefer not to be recorded, you may hang up or request an alternative contact method.
General Provisions
Data Storage and Security
BuddyHelps is a Canadian company accountable to Canadian privacy laws. We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Data Retention
- Call recordings and transcripts: 90 days for operational purposes; may be retained longer in anonymized or aggregated form for AI training
- Lead information (name, phone, address, issue): Until deleted by the business customer
- Account information: Duration of subscription plus 7 years for tax and legal purposes
- AI training data: Retained indefinitely in processed form to improve our services
Your Rights
Under PIPEDA and PIPA, you have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
We will respond to access requests within 30 days.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party services for payment processing, AI processing, and cloud infrastructure. These providers are contractually bound to protect your information and use it only for providing services to us.
AI Training Data
BuddyHelps uses artificial intelligence to answer calls and process service requests. To improve our AI systems, we may use:
- Call recordings and transcripts (anonymized where possible)
- Service request patterns and outcomes
- Interaction data to improve response accuracy
This data may be retained for extended periods beyond standard retention timelines for the purpose of training and improving our AI models, including future internally-hosted models. Data used for AI training is processed with appropriate safeguards and, where feasible, is aggregated or anonymized to minimize personal information exposure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify business customers of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.
